Rotary Drum Fine Screen: Essential Equipment for Wastewater Treatment Pretreatment
Rotary drum fine screens are critical pretreatment equipment for removing fine solids from wastewater, protecting downstream processes and equipment from damage and clogging.
How Rotary Drum Screens Work
Wastewater flows into a rotating drum covered with a perforated screen. Solids larger than the screen openings are retained on the surface while filtered water passes through. Brushes or spray nozzles continuously clean the screen, with collected debris transported to a collection trough for disposal.
Screen Specifications and Selection
Screen Aperture
Common opening sizes range from 0.25mm to 6mm, with finer screens providing better protection but requiring more frequent cleaning.
Flow Capacity
Single units handle flows from 50 m³/h to over 2,000 m³/h, with multiple units installed in parallel for larger applications.
