Directly feeding low-concentration sludge (e.g., 0.5% DS) into a dewatering press is highly inefficient. It overloads the press, reduces final cake dryness, and wastes huge amounts of expensive polymer. The entire sludge line operates at low capacity and high cost.
Our Disc Sludge Thickener acts as a low-cost “booster” stage. It uses a slowly rotating filter disc to gently remove free water, raising the solid content to 2-6% DS. This pre-thickened sludge allows your main dewatering press (Screw Press or Volute) to operate at peak efficiency, doubling its throughput.
